Medical Billing Specialist

We are a locally owned and operated home medical equipment company. Our multiple locations provide services throughout Western Kentucky. We provide retail services, home medical equipment, respiratory equipment, and diabetic supplies. Schedule Monday-Friday 8:30-5pm

Responsibilities/Objectives

• Responsible for taking referrals for equipment by obtaining all intake information accurately
• Completing and filing documents into Document Management in Brightree
• Responsible for coverage criteria and compliance must assist service technicians in maintaining patient evaluation versus DME coverage
• Initiates Sales orders, determines charges and coverage for service requested and inform customers of financial responsibilities
• Call insurance companies upon referral for coverage status in regard to DME coverage, in/out of network providers, pre-authorization requirements, and deductibles/co-pays
• File and create patient's records

Job Knowledge/Objectives

• Must be able to demonstrate proficient ability to foster professional working relationships utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must demonstrate proficient ability and practical knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, billing, and accounting software
• Previous experience and understanding of medical billing technology is preferred
• All training and development is done in-house

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
